Group managers (users with Admin or Editor role) are also able to send invitations for new members to join the group. This option is available at the three-bar menu on the group page:

Group invitations expire within a day by default, and can be previewed on top of the Members page. Each invitation has a Confirmation Code that should be sent to who was invited, preferably using a secure communication channel (or at least a separate, private e-mail message).

The invited member will receive an e-mail with a secret URL that, combined with the confirmation code, are the keys to join the group:

For unauthenticated users, the invitation link will enable a FIRST Portal Account creation by providing an unique e-mail and password. If who is invited already has a FIRST Portal account, they will be requested to sign in, as an account creation should return an error (for duplicate e-mail address).

In either case, the Confirmation Code is a requirement.

After accepting the invitation, depending on the group features, the user might be eligible to use FIRST SSO. In this case, the user will be prompted to assign Multi-Factor Authentication methods to their profile.
Some services and features might require additional steps for user provisioning. For example, FIRST Slack workspace private channel provisioning require that you sign in and accept Slack's EULA before you are assigned to the group private channel.
Please note:
There's a special type of invited member from legacy groups that were created from existing mailing lists or event registrations. For these groups, the member will only be accepted as a regular member after they have validated a matching e-mail address on their profile. These people are handled as Invited Members and have limited access to the group features (only some specific mailing lists are eligible). This special case of invited guest has no expiration date, but can be revoked by the group managers on the Members page.
